59001 -7A09, 3/7/13.
A handily late running 7A09 Merehead-Theale meant I was able to record 59001 departing the station, having stopped for a crew change.
59201 - 6A63, 1/7/13.
I'd previously had a few attempts at recording this working with no luck (notably when it ran via Bristol Parkway/Swindon as opposed to its booked route via Bath), anyway, at Lawrence Hill 59201 passes with 6A63 Avonmouth-Acton Yard.
66074 - 7C80, 4/5/13.
On the approach to Dr Days Junction, 66074 cautiously passes with the heavy looking 7C80 Machen Quarry-Westbury loaded stone featuring a consist of MRL liveried JNA's.
59201 - 6A83, 24/4/13.
Back on my old, and much missed stamping ground of Patchway, 59201 grinds past with 6A83 Machen Quarry-West Drayton loaded stone.
59204 - 6C83, 2/4/13.
Achieving a truly sunny shot at Fox's Wood can be pretty difficult, so for my sins I was fairly happy with this. 59204 speeds by with the recoded 6C83 Machen-Westbury.
66118 - 6Z16, 1/4/13.
Hauling 20 HKA's (rebogied ex-National Power JMA's), 66118 passes Fox's Wood with 6Z16 Milford Sidings-Westbury. The following day 66118 worked the HKA's first revenue earning working of Mendip stone, 6M20 Whatley Quarry-St Pancras.
59201 - 6A83, 14/11/12.
In fading winter sun at the truly lovely spot of Newton St Loe, 59201 speeds past with 6A83 Machen Quarry-West Drayton.
59005 - 7B14, 6/7/12.
This was my final shot at Westbury on this day, I'd enjoyed a dry morning but soon afterwards rain began as was predicted by the weather forecast. 59005 working 7B14 Merehead Quarry-Wootton Bassett. Sadly, apparently no 7C31 on this day.
59205 - 6M20, 6/7/12.
In gloomy conditions a locomotive in a bright livery is very handy, and on this day 59205 positively gleamed in charge of 6M20 Whatley Quarry-St Pancras. The appearance of a 59 on 6M20 was very welcome, as it often seems to be in the hands of a standard DBS 66/0.
59102 - 7A09, 6/7/12.
An early start (by my low standards anyway) was rewarded by 59102 at Westbury Station, restarting from a crew change in charge of 7A09 Merehead Quarry-Acton Yard.
59203 - 7C54, 10/4/12.
Amidst a crew change, 59203 stands at Westbury's platform 2 while in charge of 7C54 Oxford Banbury Road-Whatley Quarry.
59002 - 6V18, 10/4/12.
Swinging round past Westbury Panel Box with 6V18 Hither Green-Whatley Quarry, 59002 slows to enter Westbury and for a crew change.
59004 - 6C77, 10/4/12.
Whilst rather gloomy (to say the least) I was actually pleased with this, not least because if nothing else a lot of effort was made actually just to achieve this vantage point. Approaching Fairwood Junction, 59004 gathers pace drawing away from Westbury working 6C77 Acton Yard-Merehead Quarry.
59101 - 7C31, 10/4/12.
With the sun frustratingly only illuminating the background, 59101 arrives at Westbury with 7C31 Theale-Merehead Quarry.
59205 - 6A83, 21/3/12.
On a day when the sun seemed to be dodging in and out of the clouds I was relatively happy with this image, depicting 59205 passing Patchway with the late running 6A83 Machen Quarry-West Drayton.
59104 - 6Z17, 19/3/12.
59104 rumbles slowly through Westbury's platform 3, working 6Z17 Whatley Quarry-Hayes Tarmac. This was my final photo of the day before catching the train home.
59204 - 7C31, 19/3/12.
Working 7C31 Theale-Merehead Quarry stone empties. 59204 passes Westbury Panel Box on what was generally a lovely sunny day (...apart from the arrival of 6Z28).
66167 - 6B83, 22/8/11.
Literally caught in just enough early morning sunlight, 66167 passes Patchway with the handily late running 6B83 Westbury-Machen. Quarry
59102 - 6Z53, 21/5/11.
On 21st May 2011 Hanson Stone dispatched their first loaded stone train from Tytherington Quarry since 2005, 6Z35 Tytherington Quarry-Westbury subsequently running for three consecutive Saturdays. Against a classic rural branch line backdrop, 59102 crawls through Iron Acton on the approach to one of the numerous hand operated crossings that have to be negotiated on the remains of the former LMS Thornbury branch.
59102 - 6Z53, 21/5/11.
Due to the generous schedule allocated to 6Z35 to traverse the branch, in the best traditions of the late, great Ivo Peters I was able to drive on from Iron Acton and pick another vantage point to record the same train again (Although in my case the journey involved a tatty P-reg Renault Clio as opposed to a Bentley). Here 59102 approaches Ivory Hill, Frampton Cottrell, gathering speed enroute to Westbury.
