Last Update 4/9/13.
57315/601 - 1Z53, 4/9/13.
On a scorching afternoon just outside Bath, 57315 heads 1Z53 "Downton Abbey & Bath Spa Statesmen" past Newton St Loe running five minutes late.
67002 - 1V31, 30/10/12.
Whilst I think the WAG 67s look smart in blue with SF style silver roof, the lack of vinyls on the bodysides is surely a little odd?. On a bright October morning at Newport, 67002 pauses with 1V31 Holyhead-Cardiff Central.
57603 - 1C99, 27/6/12.
Arriving at the truly lovely station of St Erth (if, on this particular morning, a little too misty), 57603 is working 1C99 Paddington-Penzance "Night Riviera", happily under the durastiction of the original GW signal box in the distance and BR Western Region semaphores (shame about the wonky finial).
66304 - 1Z37, 24/3/12.
This is of course a blatant cheat as 66304 is here merely tailing 1Z37 Crewe-Tondu "Coal Grinder" tour, with two DRS Class 37s leading. It did however work the special at times when it visited a selection of South Wales branches, and this image is included because for my sins I quite like it.
67006 - 1Z24, 17/3/12.
Emerging out of the murk, 67006 passes Patchway (I could really of done with 67029 as Skip traction in this light) working the Shrewsbury-Bristol leg of 1Z24 Shrewsbury-Kingswear, the tour being taken over at BTM by "King" 6024. Sadly this being 6024's last mainline outing before its heavy overhaul.
57309 - 0Z57, 11/8/11.
Obviously a light engine move, but included here as it depicts 57309 as 0Z57 Old Oak HST-Crewe heading north after concluding a hire period to FGW as temporary traction for their sleeper services.
67019 - 1Z79, 22/5/11.
Having apparently made light work of Filton bank, 67019 speeds through Filton Abbey Wood with the 1Z79 Truro-London Victoria VSOE. 67002 was on the tail.
67025 - 1Z96, 20/5/11.
1Z96 Paddington-Cardiff Central was a "Rugex" in relation to a rugby union Heineken Cup Final, featuring Northampton V Leinster. Sadly 67029 is only on the tail here, with 67025 in charge of the outward working. I quite like the blue Anglia livery of some of the stock though.
66192 - 1Z24, 1/5/11.
66192 approaches Dr Day's Junction heading 1Z24 Bristol Temple Meads-Pembroke Dock, "King" 6024 taking over at Margam. Certainly there was a notable lack of window hangers on this first leg of the tour.
67008 - 1Z39, 16/4/11.
Heading 1Z39 Hooton-Kingswear, 67008 very obligingly crawls past approaching Patchway. This special was run by Chester Model Railway Club.
57306 - 2U24, 18/5/10.
Virgin Thunderbird 57306 departs Patchway with 2U24 Taunton-Cardiff Central, 57308 was on the tail. I actually did enjoy seeing the Virgin 57s when at work on behalf of FGW, despite their disfiguring Dellner couplings their 47 origins obviously enable them to look much more like a traditional British machine at least when compared to a 67.
67018 - 2C85, 10/5/10.
67018 arrives at Patchway with a few excited photographers dotted around heading 2C85 Cardiff Central-Taunton, accompanied by 67022. There was a spell when 67018/029 worked these services together but sadly I missed them.
67029 - 2C85, 7/5/10.
67029 arrives at Patchway with FGW's 2C85 Cardiff Central-Taunton, 67022 was on the tail. Even I like the silver one.
57306 - 2U24, 6/5/10.
Earlier in May 2010, 57306 arrives at Patchway both with the same working and once again accompanied by 57308. This was General Election day for the UK.
57309 - 2U14, 12/2/10.
57309 slows for its Patchway stop working 2U14 Taunton-Cardiff Central, tailed by...
57305, 12/2/10.
...57305.
67016 - 2C79, 12/3/09.
67016 arrives at Patchway with the afternoon 2C79 Cardiff Central-Taunton, allied as so often when working for FGW with 67017 on the tail.
