66614 - 4C09, 20/6/12.
Despite being a regular visitor to Stoke Gifford during this period, 66614 makes a rare appearance on Heavy Haul coal duties, passing Filton Abbey Wood with 4C09 Stoke Gifford-Portbury coal empties. Unusally 66614 hadn't worked 6F65 or 6F68/4F56 prior to heading to Portbury with 4C09 as is generally part of the established cycle, this having been 66507, which instead was stabled at Stoke Gifford in the evening before being assigned 6O56 Cardiff Pengam-Angerstein stone early the following day. 66614 later passed Patchway Junction with 6M02 for Rugeley PS at 21:58.

Low gear "Fred" 66604 speeds through Pilning with 4F56 Uskmouth PS-Stoke Gifford coal empties, earlier having passed Patchway Junction with the loaded 6F65 at 05:41. The previous day 70016 failed on 6F65, being subsequently towed 'dit' out and back by 70010.

70014 - 4Z06, 2/6/12.
For a change GE rescues EMD, as 70014 guides the 'dit' 66951 and 4Z06 Ratcliffe PS-Stoke Gifford coal empties through Lower Wick, the Bulldog having assumed control of 4Z06 at Abbotswood Junction. In the background is the M5, with traffic barely moving under the weight of Bank Holiday demand.
66597 - 4C09, 25/5/12.
Sweeping through Filton Abbey Wood, 66597 with 4C09 Stoke Gifford-Portbury as a prelude to working that evening's loaded 6M02 for Rugeley PS, having started the day working 6F65 Portbury-Uskmouth PS followed by 4F56 Uskmouth PS-Stoke Gifford empties.

70013 standing at the head of 4V22, having just completed a run-round of its rake of empty coal hoppers after arrival from Fiddlers Ferry PS running via "North & West" route. Below is a small gallery of the run-round process.
This particular Bulldog made minor news on Tuesday 8th of May running light from Stoke Gifford to Westbury, subsequently working a 6Y40 Westbury-Reading Scours Lane departmental. Also worthy of note is that 6Y40 had arrived in Wiltshire in the early hours from Bescot, courtesy of 37706.
66509 - 6A21, 14/4/12.
In stark contrast to the previous occassion I photographed 66509 working 6A21 Cardiff Pengam-Theale (at Pilning), this Saturday morning at Filton Abbey Wood was an awful, cold, drizzly affair. To be honest I was glad to take the pic and head home.
66535/619, 70003, 7/4/12.
A trio of FLHH motive power awaiting their next turn of duty - Later in the day 66619 left with 66531 as 0Y12 for Westbury (the latter having worked 6F65/4F56 in the morning), while also subsequently 66535 left with 66520 as 0Y13 for Westbury in order to work 6Y13 Westbury-Reading West Junction.

After a brief sojurn in Pilning's up goods loop, 66509 restarts 6A21 Cardiff Pengam-Theale.
66518 - 6A21, 18/2/12.
A gloomy Patchway once again, this time seeing 66518 working 6A21 Cardiff Pengam-Theale.

66530 passing Patchway with 4Z97 Port Talbot Grange Sidings-Stoke Gifford coal empties.
66623 - 6L33, 11/2/12.
After being held at a signal check, 66623 restarts 6L33 Cardiff Tidal-Dagenham and passes through Patchway.

66618 passes Patchway with the "as required" 6M36 Westbury Cement Works-Earles empty cement tanks.
66522 - 6A21, 20/8/11.
On a cloudy Saturday morning, Shanks liveried 66522 passes Patchway with 6A21 Cardiff Pengam-Theale loaded stone, working back to Bristol the same day with 6V60 Theale-Stoke Gifford empties...
66522 - 6B42, 22/8/11.
...having spent the Sunday stabled at Stoke Gifford at the head of the empties, the following Monday morning saw 66522 head back to South Wales with 6B42 Stoke Gifford-Neath Abbey Wharf. An incredibly fortuitous break in early morning fog enabled me to record it heading pass Patchway again.
70003 - 4Z97, 19/8/11.
Already showing signs of wear from active service, 70003 passes through Patchway with 4Z97 Grange Sidings-Stoke Gifford coal empties.
66552, 1/8/11.
66552 stabled at Stoke Gifford along with two HHAs.
70006 - 4F56, 30/7/11.

Recorded in late evening summer sunshine, 66557 passes Patchway with 4V58 Rugeley Power Station-Stoke Gifford coal empties.

66554 and an apparently battlescarred 66610 rest at Stoke Gifford between duties.
66599 - 6M55, 13/5/10.
Here 6M55 Portbury-Rugeley Power Station headed by 66599 is actually stoppping at Patchway Station for a crew change (or as I recall to pick up at least one member of FLHH staff, something 6M55 seemed to do reguarly for a short spell).
70006/5/2, 17/1/10.
A trio of 70s , 6/5/2, receive attention at Stoke Gifford. This was actually the first time I'd seen any Class 70, let alone three.

66527 trundles slowly through Filton Abbey Wood heading 6M04 Portbury-Rugeley Power Station loaded coal.
66565 -6M??, 15/4/09.
66565 makes remarkably light work of a fully laden coal train, speeding through Filton Abbey Wood with an early afternoon Portbury-Rugeley Power Station working.
66544, 5/4/09.
On a cloudy Sunday morning, 66544 busies with some shunting at Stoke Gifford. What a shame FLHH can't justify having one of their 08s based here.

On a lovely bright March morning, 66598 glides slowly through Filton Abbey Wood with 6M04 Portbury-Rugeley Power Station.
