66619 takes "The Rhubarb" working 6Y13 Ashchurch-Westbury...
66518 - 6Y13, 7/7/13.
...with 66518 on the tail, depicted at North Somerset Junction.
66012 - 6X33, 7/7/13.
66012 in charge of 6X33 Cardiff General-Westbury at Lawrence Hill, 66138 was on the tail.
66120 - 4/7/13.
Sadly deputising for the resident 08, 66120 shunts Westbury Up Yard.
66618 - 6Y11, 9/6/13.
Running nearly 30 minutes early, 66618 slows to a halt for a 20 minute layover at Dr Day's Junction heading 6Y11 Alstone Level Crossing-Taunton Fairwater Yard. Bringing up the rear was 66616.
66552 - 6Y11, 5/5/13.
In pleasant sunshine, 66552 heads through Dr Day's Junction with the typically enormous 6Y11 Ashchurch-Taunton Fairwater Yard, on the tail was 66604.
66086 - 20/4/13.
66086 stands shut down within Crewe Basford Hall Yard on the tail of a departmental working, sadly I haven't been able to discover the identity of the working.
66607 - 6C73, 29/3/13.
Even for a "mere 66", 66607 makes an impressive sight getting underway with 6C73 Westbury-Taunton Fairwater Yard, here seen approaching Hawkeridge Junction.
Newton St Loe 18/11/12.
66620 - 6Y11.
As a finale to a sequence of departmental workings passing Newton St Loe on this particular Sunday morning, 66620 top and tailed with 66618 working 6Y11 Alston Level Crossing-Taunton Fairwater Yard.
66621 - 6Y12.
Heading 6Y12 Alstone Level Crossing-Westbury, 66621 passes Newton St Loe. Consist*:7058920354/29363/065/176/220/540/504/233/436/185/029/328/216/503096/29285/338/7058920289/29324/408/478/291/503121/29104/056/062/265/503128/125

66063 - 6W36.
With a motley collection of wagons akin to an old style pick up freight, 66063 passes Newton St Loe with 6W36 Filton West Junction-Westbury.
Consist*: 112032/269/157/733/100098/112306/100048/110682/110223/967577/967533/112065.
66188 - 6W05.
On a gloriously bright morning at Newton St Loe, 66188 heads 6W05 Leckwith North Junction-Westbury.
Consist*: 503103/29497/503119/29203/7058920057/29492/358/132/217/116/105/096/093/106.
70016 - 6Y12, 4/11/12.
Due to the constant drizzle on this Sunday morning I took this undercover from one a Lawrence Hill "bus shelter", but it was worth it to record a Class 70 on a rare West Country departmental working, namely 6Y12 Alstone Goods Loop-Westbury featuring a consist of JNA's.
66007 - 6O41, 23/10/12.
Out of the gloom at Eastleigh, 66007 approaches with 6O41 Westbury-Eastleigh.
66040 - 6W03, 27/5/12.
Happily running only a little late, 66040 passes Pilning in charge of 6W03 Margam Moors Jct-Westbury. After reaching Westbury subsequently 66040 teamed up with 59203 to work 6W25 Westbury-Parson Street, top and tailed.
66238 - 6W37, 6/5/12.
On an otherwise miserable weekend weather wise, the sun makes a rare appearance to greet 66238 approaching Patchway, working 6W37 Sutton Bridge Junction-Westbury which was composed of a lengthy rake of HQA's.
Westbury 10/4/13.
08633 -
08633, then Westbury's "new" shunter having arrived by road from Crewe in late March, replacing 08737. These pictures were taken at various points of the morning.
66619 - 6M40.
Sadly the same "Fred" working the same train as on my visit of March 19th - 66619 with 6M40 Westbury-Stud Farm.
Westbury 19/3/12.
66598 - 6Z28.
This picture and the gallery below depicts 66598 running round and then departing Westbury with 6Z28 Oxford Hinksey-Newton Abbot Hackney to head back through Hawkeridge Junction, which came as a surprise to me as it was booked to run via Castle Cary. I made a mess of recording 6Z28's arrival thanks to a cloud momentarily blocking the sun, so forgive the entirely "wrong" picture amidst this gallery of 66598 awaiting departure as it was the only one I managed of the "Fred" actually at the business end of the train.
Consist*: DR 979515, DR 89005, DR 979041, DR 979415, DR 979038, DR 979056, DR 979607.

66613 - 6C73.
66613 waiting for the road at Westbury Station, working 6C73 Westbury-Taunton Fairwater which on this occasion consisted of a short rake of HQAs. Later in the day 66613 worked 6L33 Cardiff Tidal-Dagenham empty scrap.
66619 - 6M40.
The following gallery shows 66619 arriving at Westbury as 0M40 Stoke Gifford-Westbury light engine, then later departing through the station with 6M40 Westbury VQ-Stud Farm, and lastly heading towards Hawkeridge Junction.
08737 -
On this visit to Westbury I greatly enjoyed watching 08737 busy at work as it was the first time for quite a while I'd had such an opportunity, especially while I ate my lunch (watching the "Gronk" potter about took me back to my misspent childhood, when of course you could've witnessed identical scenes all over the BR network). Below is a small gallery involving a selection of HQA's that the 08 was shunting.
66621 - 6Z86, 19/3/12.
66621 stands held at a signal check at Bristol Temple Meads in charge of 6Z86 Taunton Fairwater-Taunton Fairwater TRT, below is a gallery of the consist as it passed on departure running via Bath, Westbury, and Castle Cary.
66154 - 6W09, 26/2/12.
Trundling through Patchway, 66154 heads 6W09 Severn Tunnel Junction-Oxford Hinksey Yard, having paused in Pilning's up goods loop for a digger to more evenly spread the spoil ballast load (Dan EFC and Stuart Graham have pictures of this at their respective superb websites). Consist*:395257/394593/391462/394922/394994/396162/394906/394313/394717/396037/394088/391424/395084/395374/394271/394949/394194/

66040 - 6W05, 26/2/12.
Slowly passing Patchway, the driver of 66040 blows his loco's horn a number of times to give track workers at Patchway Junction plenty of warning, working 6W05 Severn Tunnel Junction-Oxford Hinksey Yard.

66507/605/604, 17/2/12.
Forming a "Fred Convoy" are 66507/605/604, sadly I've no details of the headcode for this working but believe it was Crewe Basford Hall-Stoke Gifford. The trio travelled down from Crewe having been assigned to weekend departmental duties in the South West : The following morning 66605 & 66604 top and tailed a HQA set as 6Y34/35 Westbury-Newton Abbot, while 66507 teamed up with 66951 to top and tail another HQA set as 6Y33 Taunton Fairwater-Teignmouth, both trains being noted parked up together at one point at Newton Abbot over the weekend.
66021 - 6W40, 12/2/12.
On a gloomy Sunday morning at Pilning, 66021 heads 6W40 Awre Junction-Westbury consisting of a short rake of old Railtrack liveried HQA's.
66087 - 6W31, 14/1/12.
66087 stands at Westbury Station during assembly of a variety of departmental trains bound for South Wales later that evening, having arrived earlier that afternoon as part of 0X12 Newport ADJ-Westbury loco convoy in company with 66095/078/023/169/109/031. 66087 was booked to work 6W31 Westbury-Leckwith with a 21:49 departure time along with 66031.

66623 - 6Y27, 11/12/11.
A cold Sunday lunchtime at Filton Abbey Wood sees blue liveried 66623 restarting from a signal check, working 6Y27 Eckington Loop-Newton Abbott Hackney Yard cwr train.
66623 - 6Y27, 18/12/11.
Exactly a week later sees 66623 on engineering duties again, passing Newton St Loe near Bath, and again the headcode is 6Y27 but this working being Lansdown Jct-Westbury. This was the first time I'd visited this spot (the tip coming from Glen Batten via his superlative website), and whilst I was even more frozen than the previous week it was well worth the effort and a truly lovely view.
66187 - 6W06, 11/12/11.
Arriving from South Wales, 66187 passes Filton Abbey Wood working 6W06 Cwmbran-Westbury (pretty much...) empty JNA Falcons.
66134 - 6W20, 9/10/11.
A spell of engineering work on the Severn Beach line in late 2011 resulted in a number of departmental workings, including 66134 with 6W20 Clifton Down-Newport ADJ, seen here passing through the station.
59002 - 6W44, 25/9/11.
In dreadful weather, 59002 top and tailed with 59203 take their booked layover in Pilning's up goods loop with 6W44 Heath Junction-Westbury. Unsurprisingly I was the only photographer there, but I was determined to record the still relatively rare event of a 59/0 on departmental duties.
59104 - 6W01, 7/8/11.
The forecast on this day was for heavy cloud, so my lazy streak got the better of me as I chose Filton Abbey Wood to try and record 6W01. One of those rare occasions when I didn't really want the sun to emerge just as 59104 appeared, gathering pace recovering from a signal check working 6W01 Gloucester-Westbury.
66113 - 6W44, 31/7/11.
At Fox's Wood near Keynsham, in steam days the site of water troughs, 66113 (once part of the Motherwell allocated retb fitted batch) hurries past with 6W44 Westbury-Cardiff Queen Street. The rake of Seacows was a pleasant surprise.
66059 - 6W48, 3/7/11.
66059 poses handily within Filton Abbey Wood's platform 3, waiting to proceed with 6W48 FAW-Newport ADJ cwr train.
Taken at just before 7am, not my favourite time of day.
66054 - 6W38, 3/7/11.
66054 with 6W38 Hullavington-Westbury cwr train passing through Lawrence Hill Station.
66148 - 6W34, 3/7/11.
The driver of 66148 has just applied power for the climb up Ashley Hill and Filton banks, heading 6W34 Westbury-Westerleigh Jct through Lawrence Hill Station. 6W34 featured a consist of MRA's, YWA's and a solitary OCA on the tail.
66020 - 6W01, 19/6/11.
With the Second Severn Crossing in the background, 66020 grinds up the grade through Pilning with 6W01 Grovesend-Westbury.
66613 - 6Y34, 19/6/11.
Caught in nice sunlight but with dark clouds forming the backdrop, this is one of my favourites. 66613 speeds through Filton Abbey Wood with a train of HQA's, forming 6Y34 Bathampton-Oxford Hinksey Yard.
66511 - 6Y12, 29/5/11.
After being held at a signal check, 66511 restarts 6Y12 Bath Spa-Newport ADJ (via Westerleigh Jct) having just passed through Patchway Jct.
66057 - 6C41, 20/5/11.
At Pilning, 66057 hurries away from the Severn Tunnel in charge of 6C41 Newport ADJ-Westbury.
66148 - 6C41, 6/5/11.
"Army" 60040 had worked the earlier 6B65 Westbury-Newport ADJ departmental on this day, so excitedly I arranged to finish work early to catch it with the return 6C41. Sadly the Tug failed at ADJ, so 66148 substituted which I recounted rather bitterly the following week as I made the time up in work.
66148 - 6W33, 8/5/11.
On what had been ten minutes earlier a lovely sunny afternoon, 66148 passes Patchway with 6W33 Cogan Junction-Westbury.
66021 - 6W51, 26/4/11.
At Severn Tunnel Junction, 66021 passes with 6W51 Cardiff Queen Street-Westbury cwr train.
60049 - 6C41, 31/3/11.
I had no idea 60049 had been allocated to this working, and was infact waiting for 60011 with the 6B33 Murcos. A lovely surprise nonetheless as Tug 49 approaches Patchway with the sadly missed 6C41 Newport ADJ-Westbury departmental.
